Youth Health Empowerment Project (Y-HEP), a program of Philadelphia FIGHT, is seeking candidates for the position of Director of Y-HEP. Y-HEP offers a comprehensive range of health promotion and youth development programs using a harm reduction approach. Y-HEP is committed to supporting youth as they transition to healthy adulthood by providing the following programs: peer-based outreach, youth leadership and political education, and a non-judgmental drop-in center offering a family planning clinic, harm reduction counseling and groups, prevention services, and therapy. The Director of Y-HEP is responsible for the development and management of a budget funded primarily by three sizeable local and federal government grants and several other grants funded by government and private sources. In addition to grant oversight and fundraising, this position oversees an intergenerational full and part-time staff and ensures that all program goals are met. Candidates must have 5 years experience managing a department or agency, strong ability and willingness to fundraise and write grants, excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptional administrative and organizational competence, tolerance and creativity to handle a high stress environment, experience working with diverse staff and constituencies, including diversity of age, race, gender, sexual orientation, class, and educational background. Y-HEP is seeking a person with a passion to work with youth and a commitment to promote the health and well being of all young people. MA/MSW preferred. Compensation includes a competitive salary and benefits package. Position is available December 1, 2005.
