The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is currently seeking a Director to work in our Office of Child and Youth Protection in Center City.
Master of Social Work, Criminal Justice, Counseling, or related field, and five years of administrative and direct service and supervisory experience required. Strong oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are critical. Knowledge and experience providing victim assistance and working with victims of crime and trauma required. Working knowledge of and comfort with Catholic faith and parish life required.
Oversee Safe Environment and Victim Assistance Programs. Create, implement and monitor all Archdiocesan response and services to victims of sexual abuse within the Archdiocese. Oversee the implementation of all background checks and auditing and supportive compliance efforts within the parish system and within the Archdiocese. Work in collaboration with the Office of Catholic Education on the implementation, update and monitoring of the Safe Environment Education program for students. Provide support and assistance to various Archdiocesan offices as needed on victim related issues. Prepare annual department budget and monitor expenditures. Collect data for USCCB audits. Maintain, monitor and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of victim related records and database. Update information and ensure accuracy on OCYP website regularly. Implement Archdiocesan policy on Mandatory Reporter Training and maintain Safe Environment Training records. Provide support to parishes, Office of Clergy, etc. in the event of an announcement or incident of sexual abuse or potential violation of the Boundaries of Ministerial Behavior. Develop, implement and monitor internal policies and procedures. Represent the Archdiocese of Philadelphia at various victim services meetings, coalitions, etc. Ensure the creation of professional relationships with victim service and prevention programs throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (including suburbs). Work with the Delegate for Investigation on protocols for victims within the Archdiocese making a report of abuse. Provide direct assistance to victims on an as needed basis.
