Director of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program, Villanova University

The Department of Public Administration at Villanova University invites applicants for the Director of Villanova’s NASPAA -accredited Master of Public Administration ( MPA ) program. The MPA director would be responsible for the management of this national program as well as teaching courses in the program. The rank is Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor or Instructor, depending on qualifications and experience. The intended start date for this position would be in Summer of 2022.

This position intends to build upon and further the MPA program’s longstanding commitment to preparing students for “ethical, intelligent, inclusive, and creative leadership in public service,” as its mission statement attests. The Department is comprised of eleven full-time faculty who are committed to the teacher-scholar model, intellectual curiosity, and service to the larger community, as set forth by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences ( CLAS ) and the University. The diverse faculty in the program also share a deep interest in the link between theory and practice as evidenced in their teaching, research, and service. There are approximately 180 students in both the online and campus modalities of the MPA program with diverse backgrounds but all sharing a passion for public service.

The mission of the Department of Public Administration at Villanova University is to prepare undergraduate and graduate students for meaningful work in public service by providing them with the theoretical foundations and tools they need to become skilled, thoughtful, inclusive, and ethical leaders in service to the common good.
