Director of Technology Services & Programs
The Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia, the region?s leading service organization to the cultural and business communities, seeks an individual for a senior staff position responsible for The Technology Connectors? program. The Technology Connectors program provides comprehensive technology assistance to nonprofit arts and cultural organizations through strategic partnerships with technology companies and individuals. Core services of the program include software skills training; educational workshops and seminars; technology project support and consulting; help desk support; and access to technology tools, resources, and best practices.
The Director of Technology Services & Programs is responsible for oversight, administration, and operations of the program, ensuring a high level of quality for all services offered. The position is also responsible for leading and directing the Council?s internal technology planning process and managing internal technology needs. The position reports to the President & CEO, and is
supported by a Program Associate.
Key Responsibilities Include:
-Creating strategic partnerships with technology companies, individuals, and other nonprofit technology programs to enhance and expand services offered.
-Marketing the program to arts and cultural organizations, technology providers, potential volunteers, and potential business partners.
-Developing curricula and content for technology workshops and seminars covering a broad range of relevant topics.
-Recruiting and training technology professionals to participate in the program?s volunteer activities.
-Consulting with individual arts organizations to assess their technology needs, propose solutions, or recommend appropriate services.
-Conducting research into ongoing technology needs of the arts community.
-Overseeing the development of technology solutions tailored to targeted sectors of the arts community.
-Evaluating and assessing the program?s services to make continual improvements and enhancements.
-Leading regional efforts to enhance the technology capacity of the nonprofit sector, and ensuring that arts and cultural organizations are represented in these efforts.
-Learning about latest trends in technology and applying their concepts to usage in the arts and cultural community.
-Serving as a single point of contact for arts and cultural organizations and their technology needs.
-Setting direction of the Council?s internal technology planning efforts and project management.
Requirements:
Excellent verbal, writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts in lay terms while communicating with a diverse constituency.
Broad working knowledge of all major information and communications technologies, including Internet/Web, database, networking, hardware, and software.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to oversee and administer a wide variety of tasks and projects.
Strong consulting skills with the ability to effectively assess key issues and provide insight into solutions.
Marketing and fundraising skills to ensure ongoing support and sustainability of the program.
At least 4-6 years in a corporate, nonprofit or consulting environment, with at least one year in a technical-oriented position.
Customer-service experience as demonstrated by working with external clients or constituents.
College degree from an accredited institution. Graduate or technical degree preferred.
Interest in the arts as demonstrated by participation, involvement, or board service.
