SquashSmarts, Philadelphia’s only urban youth enrichment program utilizing Academic Tutoring and Squash Fitness instruction, seeks an experienced individual to serve as its Director of Health, Fitness & Squash. SquashSmarts is a dynamic and rapidly expanding after school program operating out of West Philadelphia’s Drexel University and North Philadelphia’s Lenfest Center. SquashSmarts mission is to provide high-impact and high-intensity Health, Education, Community Service and Leadership opportunities for Philadelphia public middle and high school students in need. This is a unique opportunity for a highly qualified man or woman with extensive squash experience to work closely with the Executive Director and Program Staff to manage a year-round squash, health and fitness curriculum. The individual will be responsible for implementing and enhancing the program’s squash, health and fitness curriculum. Ideal candidates have excellent presentation, writing, cognitive and interpersonal skills, must hold a BA/BS or equivalent international degree and must be fluent in English. Strong interdisciplinary skills and additional course work in education, childhood development, social work, fitness and/or sports psychology are strongly desired. Minimum weekly hours of service: Monday-Thursday 10:00am-6:30pm, Saturdays 9:30am-2:00pm and assist with special weekend and evening events as needed.
