Delaware Valley Grantmakers (DVG), a membership association of organizations and individuals engaged in philanthropy, is searching for a full-time Director of Member Services who reports to the Executive Director.
About DVG
DVG’s mission is to build stronger communities by increasing the impact and effectiveness of philanthropy in Greater Philadelphia. We pursue that mission through education, networking and collaborative activities for grantmakers and sometimes nonprofit organizations. DVG serves more than 700 staff and trustees representing 150 grantmaking organizations. DVG is also part of a national network of 35 regional associations supporting philanthropy in communities across the country. DVG has an authorized staff of five full-time professionals, provides a competitive salary and benefits and offers a fast-paced, collegial and productive working environment.
About the Position
The Director of Member Services focuses on providing value and quality to the DVG member experience to foster retention, growth and community impact. S/he leads the development and presentation of DVG’s educational programs and special events. S/he is the principal point of contact for responding to member inquiries and requests for information and assistance. The Director plans and coordinates outreach to members to foster and monitor engagement and satisfaction and leads the annual member renewal drive. S/he organizes and tracksprospect recruitment andorients and integrates new membersinto DVG. The Director will supervise an Associate who provides administrative, logistical and communications support for all member activities.
Essential responsibilities:
* Work with members, staff colleagues and community partners to plan and present educational programs and events
* Stay informed about members’ grantmaking activities, relevant regional issues and national philanthropic resources and trends
* Staff and manage DVG’s Membership Committee and other member affinity and working groups
* Organize and track annual membership renewal drive
* Conduct member outreach to facilitate and monitor engagement; design and implement periodic member feedback instruments and incorporate findings into member services
* Respond to member inquiries and requests in a timely, thorough and appropriate manner
* Create and monitor program budgets and assist in generating sponsorships and other revenue sources
* Develop, implement and track system of membership prospect identification, outreach and recruitment
* Effectively supervise Member Services Associate to achieve maximum efficiency, productivity and quality
Required qualifications and qualities:
* Three to five years experience in customer/client service, educational program development and/or special event planning
* Knowledge of regional issues, organizations and institutions
* Familiarity with philanthropy and nonprofit practices
* A track record of cultivating strong relationships
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; other technology skills a plus
* Good judgment and discretion and a willing team player
* Strong written and oralcommunications skills
* Supervisory experience preferred
* High energy and creativity
* Well-organized
* Sees the big picture and pays attention to details
