Director Of Individual Giving, Musicopia and Dancing Classrooms Philly

Primary Annual Job Duties: Individual Giving

  • Manage all aspects of individual giving program (cultivation, written and in person solicitation, acknowledgment, United Way) for both Musicopia and DCP
  • Cultivate, track, and manage multi-year giving program (High Note and High Step Society) to ensure pledge completion
  • Develop and execute Individual Giving strategic planning objectives
  • Plan and execute two major fundraising events, including program planning, sponsorship solicitation, invitation of prospects and donors, and follow up
  • Plan and execute two family fundraising events, one each for Dancing Classrooms Philly and the Musicopia String Orchestra
  • Plan and execute up to two donor acknowledgement events and a minimum of 2-3 cultivation events for both organizations and conduct all follow up
  • Attend and support where needed other organizational special events – some evening and weekend event attendance is required
  • Prepare annual budgets for individual and special event giving areas and track progress toward goals for quarterly Board reports
  • Coordinate with Grants and Corporate Development Manager on the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporate giving prospects

Board

  • Engage and cultivate Board members, launch Ambassador Board, identify and cultivate Board prospects, and support strategic planning process
  • Ensure 100% financial giving from Board members
  • Serve as Board Secretary: maintain Board lists, schedule and attend quarterly Board meetings, and distribute meeting materials and take minutes
  • Serve as staff liaison to Board Development and Marketing Committee

Job Qualifications

  • College Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in fundraising and development; experience with special events as well as team management a plus
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders
  • Strong public speaking abilities
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, Publisher; familiarity with Salesforce a plus
  • Familiarity with the Greater Philadelphia funding community a plus
