Director of HR & Inclusion
Posted by Philadelphia Yearly Meeting on May 19, 2020
PYM believes in a world where all Human Resources departments integrally operate through a lens of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). We are committed to building anti-oppression frameworks into every element of the leadership of PYM staff, including and especially Human Resources. We seek candidates to fill the open position of Director of Human Resources & Inclusion who bring DEI experience in the context of organizational change and culturally competent organizational leadership. We expect candidates to have some familiarity and experience with Human Resources regulations, policies, and practice. We expect that we may need to engage the successful candidate in additional training in Human Resources practice so that they are able to fulfill this side of their duties. We acknowledge that it is easier to teach people the mechanics of benefits administration, for example, than it is to develop the type of wisdom required to guide organizational change. We are a small non-profit, and we are aware that many small- to medium-size nonprofits often engage their talented staff in multiple roles (many hats, as it were). We are excited for candidates who are enthusiastic about joining a team that is growing and still imperfect in its anti-racist and multicultural identity formation. Candidates will be given the opportunity to lead the staff in our DEI work in concert with other staff who are already actively engaged. We seek candidates who are willing to work flexibly with us in our mission. And our mission is to support the growth of diverse and dynamic expressions of local Quaker community, aiding local Quaker community to derive meaning and purpose from being part of a wider network of faithful people.
