Director of Education, Communities in Schools of Philadelphia

The Director of Education for the Performance Learning Center (PLC) is an exempt position reporting directly to the Deputy Chief of Workforce Development and School Support Services. The Director is responsible for creating a safe environment conducive to learning, maintaining the integrity of academic instruction to ensure academic success and providing outstanding leadership to PLC staff. The Director of Education is also responsible for providing the vision necessary to develop and administer educational programs that optimize available resources to provide successful, high quality educational experiences for students working to reach their full potential and fulfillment academically, physically, an intellectually, through social-emotional growth and maturation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Masters Degree in Education from an accredited college or university with principal certification.
• Three years minimum successful school administration experience with positive outcomes.
• Three years minimum demonstrated teaching experience.
