Early College Charter School of Philadelphia (ECPHL) will begin its first year as a Philadelphia public charter school in 2026-27. Our mission is grounded in a deep care for and commitment to middle and high school students: To offer an inspiring 6th-12th grade education by fostering students’ sense of belonging and purpose, and empowering them with the competencies, connections, and credentials for fulfilling roles in high-demand industries, along with the tools to learn and thrive throughout their lives.
Our vision inspires us to bring our best selves to work on behalf of students and Philadelphia: To serve as a model for educational equity by combining an innovative and relevant program, strategic postsecondary and industry partnerships, and broad community investment to serve its students’ life pursuits and our city’s greatest needs.
We will welcome 112 sixth graders and 112 ninth graders in the fall of 2026, then add one sixth and one ninth grade class each year till the school is fully enrolled in year four. We’re building a founding team of educators – teachers, leaders and staff across all school positions – committed to their own continuous growth to provide the transformational education all students deserve.
Position Summary
The Director of Early College and Career is responsible for driving and implementing ECPHL’s unique college- and career-connected learning progression from 6th through 12th grade, with an optional year of postgraduate support. The Expose → Explore → Experience → Extend continuum includes college and career integration in academic classes, and practical, age-appropriate career education lessons in Advisory. The Director of Early College and Career builds and coordinates partnerships with higher education institutions and employers to provide a rich, relevant learning and professional network for all students. The Director ensures students meet short, intermediate, and long-term outcomes including meeting year-to-year promotion requirements, graduating from high school, taking at least two college courses up to an Associates Degree and/or earning an industry credential, and matriculating into continued education or a job with growth potential following graduation. As the Early College and Career Team grows, the Director of Early College and Career will supervise a team of Managers. The Director of Early College and Career serves on the School Leadership Team, and reports directly to the CEO.
The salary range is $90K-$115K.
