Director of Development, William Penn Charter School

This is the senior leadership position on the development team, although reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Development will work closely with the Head of School and Board and have a great deal of strategic program and staff management responsibility.
A coeducational, college-preparatory day school, William Penn Charter School was founded in 1689 making it the world’s oldest Quaker school. Located on a stately 8-building, 47-acre, Penn Charter enrolls 960 students in grades PK-12. Penn Charter offers a vigorous college preparatory curriculum with a robust arts program, a legacy in athletics and a national reputation for service learning. Quaker principles and practice guide the Penn Charter community; respect for others is the direct result of seeing “that of God” in everyone.
This position is newly created as the School looks to build its development team and plan for a historic campaign. The Director of Development will lead and manage the staff that is responsible for annual giving, alumni relations, stewardship, events, and advancement services. The Director of Development will ensure strong volunteer leadership and volunteer involvement in development, community relations, and alumni programs, and also manage a small portfolio of donors.
