The Philadelphia Mural Arts Advocates is a Non Profit Corporation qualified under section 501(c) (3) of the internal revenue Code (“MAA”). MAA’s purpose is to support operationally and by fundraising the activities of the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program (“MAP”). The Director of Development of MAA will have overall responsibility for all fundraising efforts of the organization and will manage and mentor the development staff. The position will report directly to the President of MAA. The Director will work in close collaboration with the Executive Director of MAP, Senior Staff of MAA and the Board of Trustees of MAA to ensure the organization has the necessary resources to achieve it goals and advance its mission.
Job Responsibilities:
Expand the existing development program and design and implement strategies for substantial development revenue growth
Establish and attain measurable annual goals for each development fundraising component in collaboration with appropriate staff, consultants and board of directors.
Engage the development committee of the board to help attain annual goals. Develop agendas, reports and minutes to properly support the work of this committee.
Work to cultivate new sources of support with an emphasis on individual giving, including major and planned gifts.
Manage relationship with consultant for major gifts.
Evaluate and refine the departmental infrastructure and financial resources to effectively manage donor databases; schedule activities including solicitation and securing gifts, tracking gifts received and gifts pledged.
Collaborate with senior staff, the Board and consultants on development of fundraising and cultivation events
Manage and mentor the development staff including institutional grant writer and assist in their professional growth.
Conduct research, develop plans and secure resources from the public and private sectors including foundation, corporate and government (city, state and federal) sources.
Manage the grant and reporting calendar to ensure deadlines are met.
