The Asian Arts Initiative (<a href="http://www.asianartsinitiative.org">http://www.asianartsinitiative.org</a>) is an emerging force working to empower Philadelphia?s Asian American communities through the arts. Founded in 1993, the Asian Arts Initiative is a community arts center offering performances, exhibitions, workshops, and training for artists, youth, and adults. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Director will lead the Asian Arts Initiative?s fund development efforts with a particular focus on expanding individual giving and cultivating major gifts as part of an upcoming relocation project.

As a member of the executive staff, the Development Director will participate in strategic goal setting and coordinating resource development with the Asian Arts Initiative?s long-range plan. Key responsibilities include cultivating and maintaining funder/donor relationships; coordinating major gifts campaigns, annual appeals and other individual donor strategies; proposal and report writing; managing board/volunteer participation in fundraising; and facilitating internal communications to ensure effective integration of fundraising with operations and programs. The successful candidate will be an effective manager and communicator, self-starter, and strategic thinker. A passion for arts and community-based work and at least three years of nonprofit development experience are required. Familiarity with the local arts and philanthropic communities and experience with capital campaigns are a plus.
