North 10 Philadelphia is hiring a Director of Children and Youth Programs and Services for the North 10 Philadelphia Lenfest Center.
Job Description:
- Provide daily support for the coordination, integration, and delivery of all out of school time programs within the Lenfest Center by promoting collaborative relationships between children and youth-related program areas and ensuring that the expectations of out of school time program partners, children and youths, and other stakeholders are consistently met.
- Coordination with CPO/ Center Director and Director, Adult Programs and Community Services regarding the implementation of a two-generation strategy to overcoming poverty and other systemic issues.
- Communicate effectively (verbally and written) and make decisions in a timely manner with the out of school time program team
- Support the CPO/Center Director in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of out of school time programs and activities
- Manage data collection of attendance information, administers surveys, and prepares reports as needed with the support of the out of school time program team
- Assist contractors/consultant partners in preparing for scheduled activities
- Be actively engaged during out of school time programs while being responsive to staff and partners and more.
- Support high quality out of school time programming practices and services that meet the current and future needs of the out of school time community
- Monitor youth, ensuring compliance with core standards regarding environmental, physical, and emotional safety
- Promote and maintain positive culture and climate by being accessible and visible in the Center and during children and youth transitional moments
- Direct children and youths to scheduled programs and activities; ensures that youth are always engaged in activities
- Emphasize deepening staff and children and youth relationships utilizing trauma-informed practices
- Facilitate restorative meetings with children and youths and staff to ensure full student reintegration to the Center community
- Provide oversight of communication with parents regarding attendance, academic achievement, and behavioral issues of children and youths
- Offer feedback to CPO/Center Director on the status and quality of programs and activities, parent and youth satisfaction with program activities, and any other concerns with program operations
- Analyze the appropriate children and youth and parent/ guardian data to inform Out of School Time program-focused decisions
- Explore new initiatives and develop new partnerships for out of school time programming to increase support and raise children and youth outcomes
- Ensure positive culture and climate for children and youths through relationship-building with the support and guidance of the CPO/Center Director
- Maintain information of children and youth data with support from program
- Aid CPO/Center Director with real-time support for developing and implementing classroom management strategies and plans for individual students as needed
- Supervise any volunteers or interns who have been assigned to assist with out of school time programs. Provide them with detailed task lists and schedules, and make sure that they have completed any assigned tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned
