As the full-time Director of Career Training and Outreach, you will lead the effort to connect Philadelphians with workforce development programs and career opportunities.

Job Description

  • Compiles a database of existing workforce development programs including timelines, requirements, etc.
  • Designs a strategy to connect Philadelphians looking for work with existing workforce development programs.
  • Identifies community groups, forums, churches, etc. to present job opportunities.
  • Raises awareness on neighborhood social media platforms about workforce development opportunities.
  • Contacts community groups and travels around the city to pitch workforce development opportunities.
  • Creates a database to track application/hiring rates and salaries.

Qualifications

  • A demonstrated commitment to community engagement.
  • Technology skills including expertise with Microsoft Office, database management and social media; willingness to learn new applications and identify innovative ways for technology to support organizational objectives.
  • Project management skills: ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and to create systems and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively and articulately in writing and orally to diverse groups.
  • A drive to create real social change that leads to better lives and healthier communities.
  • Driver’s license and valid transportation required.
  • Flexible schedule as evening and weekend hours are required.
  • Experience in workforce development a plus.
