The Center for Black Educator Development (CBED) exists to (re)build a national Black Teacher Pipeline to achieve educational and racial justice by ensuring there is equity in the recruiting, training, hiring, and retention of quality educators that reflect the cultural background and share common socio-political interests of the students they serve. Launched in June 2019, the Center for Black Educator Development is revolutionizing education by dramatically increasing the number of Black educators so that low-income Black and other disenfranchised students can reap the full benefits of a quality public education. About the Position 

The Director of Black Male Engagement (Director of BME) will partner with leaders in the organization to set the strategic direction and operationalize the vision for creating meaningful and effective programming for Black male educators (BMEs). The Director of BME will develop structured programming for leadership development, mentoring, affinity group spaces, and convenings. The Director of BME will represent the organization on a policy level, collaborating with State and local leaders, and other leaders in the education space to advance research and policy related to Black males in education. The Director of BME must have an unwavering commitment to the power of investing in BMEs, demonstrate exceptional communication skills, especially public speaking, and prioritize strong relationship-building with people and organizations connected to our work.
