The Director of the High School Programs supports LPS’s mission to deliver innovative education programs that meet the highest standards of excellence.
Job Description
Duties:
The Director is responsible for ensuring reliable program operations, student success and satisfaction; s/he influences the vision for development goals for the programs, including: on campus summer credit pre-college programs, non-credit summer academies, PennSummerPrep programs, and academic year Young Scholars program.
The position leads all aspects of program operations for these programs: planning and scheduling the Academies and program events; arranging for access to University services and facilities for students; developing and implementing systems to communicate program information to prospective and current students; dispersing scholarships; advising; and performing other activities as relevant. In preparation for the summer session, the Director will create instructional and operational budgets for the summer high school programs and assume fiduciary responsibility for the budget. The Director develops and implements systems, and oversees logistics to support strategic recruitment (national and international), prospect management activities, and admissions for the programs, in collaboration with the Enrollment Management staff and the LPS Executive Director.
S/he also develops and maintains strong external partnerships and initiates development of collaborative relationships, especially among the Standing Faculty. In collaboration with the LPS Marketing staff, the Director develops and administers systems and resources to deliver program information to prospective and current students, particularly through websites and web portals, documents and manuals, and special events and workshops.
To ensure that LPS Programs adhere to the highest standards of excellence, the Director implements routine program evaluation by developing systems and handling the logistics to support the assessment of LPS High School programs. The Director reports directly to the Executive Director of LPS, and works closely with other members of the staff in the LPS academic programs, enrollment services, recruitment and admissions, as well as with other offices and departments in the University. The position supervises one program coordinator.
