JOB POSTING: DIRECTOR, HERITAGE ORGANICS
(full-time opportunity)
Responsible for overall operational, strategic and fiscal responsibility for Heritage Organics, an agricultural for-profit earned income venture of Heritage Conservancy, a non-profit regional land trust located in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Heritage Organics? objective is to be a contributing force in a regional agricultural renaissance. Its primary focus is sustainable agricultural (economic and environmental), with a significant emphasis on farmland preservation through its relationship with the conservancy. Heritage Organics has a corporate board of directors and three core tracks: 1) an operating farm capable of production, demonstrations and training; 2) one-stop consulting services, and; 3) centralized marketing and distribution.
Candidates should have a minimum of five to seven years senior-level experience in agricultural businesses. Extensive experience with contemporary and economically sustainable agricultural practices including organics. A strong business, sales and marketing background. Hands-on expertise growingdiversified specialty crops. Proven track record running successful agricultural businesses, securing financing and interfacing with shareholders, clients, staff and board members. Excellent written and oral communications and organizational skills.
