The West Chester University Center for Civic Engagement & Social Impact (CCESI) promotes community-based learning experiences that address issues of public concern by building mutually beneficial partnerships with a wide array of non-profit and governmental agencies, faculty, staff, and students.
CCESI empowers students to be active citizens in their local, national and global communities. Experiences include community service, volunteering, service-learning, social advocacy, voting, and other meaningful ways to make a positive impact. These programs and services, including the WCU Resource Pantry, provide students with a wide range of impactful opportunities to learn about and address issues of public concern from hunger and homelessness to educational inequities. Through the partnerships with community-based organizations, CCESI strives to equip all students with the knowledge and skills to participate effectively in democratic life as agents of positive social change.
Reporting to the Vice President for University Advancement & External Affairs, the Director for Civic Engagement & Social Impact is responsible for ensuring that CCESI fulfills its mission and is responsive to campus inquiries and student needs related to service-learning programs and opportunities.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion; complex management skills needed to work in a multi-layered dynamic organization; experience working with local nonprofit organizations and/or volunteer programs; experience working with the Center for Civic Engagement and Social Impact; and is a creative problem solver who can work independently to organize work and set priorities to meet deadline driven critical assignments while providing excellent customer service.
