Director, Finance and Administration, Covenant House Pennsylvania

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Director of Finance and Administration will be a strategic thought-partner with, and report directly to, the executive director (ED). The successful candidate will be a hands-on and participative manager and will lead, supervise, and develop an internal team to support the following areas: finance, business planning and budgeting, office administration, facilities, food service, information technology, and human resources.
The Director of Finance and Administration will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and operations as Covenant House Pennsylvania continues to enhance and expand its quality programming. This position will provide finance and operations leadership to maximize, strengthen, and build the internal capacity of a well-respected, high-impact organization, as well as support and lead strategic expansion initiatives.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Finance – Oversight of Finance function, including: budgeting, financial planning, internal and external reporting, grants management, audit, cash flow and forecasting, contracts, receivables, payroll, purchasing, payables, and risk management.
- Supervision of Controller and Bookkeeper/Accountant.
- Office Administration – Oversight of the office administration function. Supervision of an office manager and reception.
- Facilities – Oversight of the physical infrastructure, physical plant, and maintenance of two buildings and three vehicles.
- Supervision of facilities and maintenance staff.
- Human Resources – Oversight of the human resources function and associated policies. Supervision of human resources staff.
- Information Technology – Manage the information technology function, including hardware, software network infrastructure, telephone system, and security/camera systems. Supervision of IT staff.
- Food Services – Oversee commercial kitchen and food service, providing three meals and a snack in a 51-bed residential facility 24/7/365. Oversight, management, and supervision of food service coordinator and cook.
- Legal Affairs – Coordinate with outside counsel on corporate and legal matters as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned.
