SEAMAAC welcomes applications for the position of Digital Navigation Specialist.
SEAMAAC is a nonprofit organization in South Philadelphia, with the mission “To support and serve immigrants and refugees and other politically, socially and economically marginalized communities as they seek to advance the condition of their lives in the United States.”
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Digital Navigation Specialist plays a vital role in advancing digital equity and digital inclusion in Philadelphia. The Digital Navigation Specialist will work on digital access outreach, digital education, and digital resources to support low-income Philadelphians. Tasks include helping families to enroll in Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and other programs for free/low-cost internet and digital devices; supporting clients over the phone and in-person; managing SEAMAAC’s Digital Navigator Help Line and Digital Literacy Lab; and maintaining program data.
This is a hybrid position, with some remote work and some in-person work required. In-person work will take place at the Hansjörg Wyss Wellness Center, 1902 S. 8 th St., Philadelphia.
Duties/Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Assist community members with digital literacy/digital access needs
- Provide one-on-one digital navigation support to adults using SEAMAAC’s Digital Literacy Lab
- Provide one-on-one digital navigation support to adults calling SEAMAAC’s Digital Navigation Help Line
- Refer clients to case management, ESL/Digital Literacy classes, and other services as needed
- Conduct outreach to inform households of ACP and other digital resources
- Complete data entry and data collection · Assist with program evaluation and reporting
- Collaborate with partner organizations to advance policies for digital equity and inclusion
- Conduct occasional presentations and trainings about Digital Navigation resources
- Provide access to interpretation/translation as needed
- Actively participate in Digital Navigator meetings and workgroups
- Actively participate in organization-wide efforts at a minimum of 5 events per calendar year
- Other duties may be assigned from time to time
