Digital Literacy Mentors (College Students), Write Away – Jan 31
Posted by Write Away on January 11, 2022
Write Away’s Digital Literacy Mentorship team is gearing up for the spring program session of Write Away, and we would love it if you could share this opportunity with students looking for internship opportunities at your university.
Write Away is currently accepting applications for Digital Literacy Mentors for our spring session (a virtual volunteer opportunity).
Here is the link to the application, due January 31, 2022. (If you are unable to access the application, you can email us at [email protected] for an alternate application process.)
Write Away envisions a digital world where everyone is included and able to express themselves. Through our Digital Literacy Mentoring Program, students in grades 6-12 get matched up with a college student mentor who guides them through a series of writing tasks, which encourage creativity, increase digital literacy, and empower students through telling and owning their own story.
Mentors and mentees meet virtually 2-3 times per week for 1 hour at a time, and the schedule is set based on mutual availability between the mentor and mentee. New Mentor Training will take place via Zoom in February, and mentors and mentees will start meeting weekly in March.
Feel free to have any interested program staff or students contact Deanna Santoro at [email protected] to chat about the opportunity and answer any questions they may have.
