Digital Archivist (Part Time), SAADA

Posted by South Asian American Digital Archive (SAADA) on January 23, 2024

SAADA is an organization on the rise, and we are seeking a Digital Archivist whose skills, commitment, and vision will further solidify SAADA as a national leader in community-driven storytelling. If you are a conscientious, curious, and striving individual, we invite you to come build with us.

About the Role

The Digital Archivist will maintain and grow SAADA’s post-custodial digital archive and digital participatory platforms (like our award-winning First Days Project and Road Trips Project) to ensure their place as nationally recognized trusted resources for scholars, educators, artists, filmmakers, students, and community members.

Who We Are

SAADA is at the forefront of pioneering a distributed, post-custodial, community-driven approach to archival collecting. For us, archival work is done bywith, and for our community. SAADA’s archive is now the largest collection of stories and materials about South Asian Americans, with more than 5,000 unique items dating from the late 1800s to the present day, including rare photographs, letters, newspaper clippings, oral history interviews, videos, born digital materials, and other ephemera.
