The United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey in Philadelphia, PA is currently searching for a Development Officer of Major Gifts to assist the SVP of Strategic Philanthropy and the AVP of Major and Special Gifts in executing the strategy for Major Gift donors in support of annual strategic goals and United Way’s Impact fund.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Manage and execute an annual program to solicit, engage, cultivate, and steward the Tocqueville Society throughout the Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey region.
• Manage and execute the engagement program for the regional Tocqueville Society.
• Cultivate, solicit and manage a portfolio of 100+ major gift prospects with the ultimate goal of increasing giving in support of United Way’s annual strategic goals and Community Impact fund.
• Manage the solicitation, cultivation, and acknowledgment of all individual donors with gifts above $10,000.
• Provide volunteer management and support to volunteers providing assistance with Tocqueville Society strategy and solicitation – including the Tocqueville Council
• Identify new sources of Tocqueville giving and develop prospect solicitation plans
• Collaborate with workplace staff on soliciting lapsed workplace Tocqueville donors
• Collaborate with Communications and other internal staff in the development of communication materials designed for Tocqueville donors and prospects (correspondence, brochures, and all printed membership information, etc.)
• Manage the efficient, timely and accurate pledge processing and data entry of all Leadership information, and the generation of accurate and timely reports to measure the progress of Tocqueville giving.
• This position manages the research tools and vendors that supply them
• This position deals with all levels of internal and external staff, including cultivation of major donors, foundations, and volunteers.
• This position is accountable to deliver on tracking, reporting, customer service and data management in the Major gifts area.
