Position Overview

The Development Associate position will provide support to the Sr. Development Manager and Associate Executive Director in the following areas: grant writing, research and tracking; fundraising appeals, donation tracking and acknowledgement; event planning and execution; and administrative program support for the ITWorks technology training program and PC Donation Program.

Position Location

Primarily in our Wilmington, Delaware, office, with occasional travel to our global headquarters in Philadelphia, and some local or regional travel as needed to support our programs and events.

Compensation and Benefits

This position is a full-time, non-exempt position with full benefits and a salary commensurate with experience.

Job Qualifications

·         Minimum of 2 years nonprofit experience, preferably in a development role.
·         Bachelor’s degree required.
·         Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and high level of comfort with CRM (constituent relationship management) databases, such as Salesforce.com.
·         Excellent writing skills and oral communication skills.
·         Knowledge of the fundamentals of grant writing, familiarity with funder and donor research, and familiarity with fundraising software and databases.

Specific Job Responsibilities

·         Maintain comprehensive constituent profile information. Ensure contact information is up-to-date.
·         Generate grant, donation, volunteer, and other reports from the CRM database as needed.
·         Maintain database and other electronic records for all grant awards, individual donations, matching gifts, and in-kind donations.
·         Prepare grant and gift acknowledgements and other correspondence as needed.
·         Assist as needed with the annual ITWorks appeal.
·         Provide support for the planning and management of events, including the annual Technology Awards Luncheon and ITWorks graduations.  Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters.
·         Provide administrative support for the ITWorks and PC Donation Programs.  This may include volunteer coordination, activity tracking and reporting, and maintenance of contact information.
·         Perform other duties as assigned.
