JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Development Associate
POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Development
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Development Associate will support all Development functions to meet yearly financial goals with a key focus on database management, event coordination and volunteer engagement and management. In addition, this position supports the Director of Development through a variety of administrative duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the Gift Processesing process, including receiving, and recording gifts in the database. Coding donations for accounting purposes and work with Accounting & Director of Development to ensure donor records align with accounting records and financial statements.
- Oversee Volunteer Engagement through various assignments and events, including the Young Friends Initiative by initiating meetings, maintaining annual calendar, stimulating membership growth, and spearheading ideas to assist young professionals in engaging in the mission of the school
- Miscellaneous projects as needed at the discretion of the organization’s leadership team.
- Stewardship, produce acknowledgment letters with an appropriate signature within 24-48 hours. Notify board and organization leadership of thank-you notes and phone calls needed.
- Maintain the DPO database to ensure the input of timely and accurate data. Facilitate a comprehensive record management and monthly reporting system.
- Manage the annual appeal timeline, including: production of appeal, mailing, phone calls, volunteer management, phonathons, tracking/reporting, follow-up and stewardship.
- Manage mailings; including but not limited to Annual Appeal and event invitations.
- Manage and coordinate special events. Maintain event planning timelines and budgets. Serve as primary on-site contact during events.
- Administrative support to the Director of Development;
- Maintain all donor paper and database files.
- Maintain development policy and procedure manual.
- Maintain development marketing materials and packets.
- Identify and research prospective donors as needed.
- Assist in managing stewardship program for donors, including writing stewardship letters.
- Assist with grant proposals, newsletters, annual report, marketing materials, website and additional letter writing.
- Attend a variety of meetings and assist with fund-raising activities.
