Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, the largest nonprofit homebuilder worldwide. Habitat Philadelphia builds affordable homes with people who need them. We work in partnership with prospective and existing homeowners, volunteers, community groups and all those who can help realize the goal of affordable housing for all.
The Development Associate works closely with the Director of Development and Development Team to support the Executive Director and Board of Directors to advance the mission of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia. The Development Associate duties will be primarily in the areas of Salesforce management and data integrity, annual fund, donor recognition, event organization and support, and committee meeting coordination. Essential skills required include exceptional organizational and writing skills, database experience, attention to detail and a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. The Development Associate will help promote a culture of philanthropy and volunteerism internally and externally.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Lead staff point person for Salesforce.com
- Gatekeeper for data integrity in Salesforce.com; primary point of contact for development and volunteer data; support other departments on data maintenance.
- Participate in Salesforce.com trainings, as needed, to keep system performing, as well as platforms updated and upgraded as necessary.
- Train Habitat staff on Salesforce basics; trouble-shoot as needed.
Utilize donor-centered fundraising best-practices to process all donations (cash, stock, in-kind):
- Process all gifts via Salesforce ( including workplace giving, United Way, In-Kind), online gifts, car donations, stock gifts, pledge payments, etc
- Complete deposit procedures in timely fashion as needed; code deposit slips for Quick Book entry
- Support timely recognition of all gifts received; ensure Salesforce generated electronic thank you emails are sent to all donors with fresh thank you copy and content. Produce weekly hard copy thank you letters for all gifts. Using Salesforce generate weekly report of gifts for thank you calls.
- Develop and maintain Salesforce dashboard reports on contributions, gift tracking, donor trends
- Accurately capture donor information/gifts in Salesforce; track changes, acknowledgements in Salesforce; maintain coding procedures in Salesforce
- Maintain data integrity and ensure data integrity for donor and volunteer contact information captured in Salesforce; accurately capture and track donor information; maintain integrity of reports generated by Salesforce
- Assist Volunteer Manager to ensure volunteers are tracked in Salesforce; support efforts to integrate volunteers into communication strategy, giving campaign, etc
- Support ReStore with timely production of in-kind thank you letters, promotional and marketing strategies, donations inquiries and field ReStore inquiry calls
Donor Data Tracking, Reporting, Financial Support
- Track donor moves in Salesforce; maintain donor spreadsheets for committees
- Capture board campaign and annual board giving
- Ensure donor relationships are accurately captured in records/salesforce
- Create accurate queries as needed
- Pull data for newsletters, e-news, annual report, mailings, etc
- Process all checks and deposits for Finance department
- Create finance report on all checks received
- Coordinate with Development Team to ensure grants received are recorded in database and acknowledged appropriately
