Development Associate at ACHIEVEability:
Help Raise Funds & Friends to Make a Difference
Work with a dynamic team to help raise money and friends for an award‐winning nonprofit organization whose mission is to help disenfranchised families break the cycle of poverty and achieve self‐sufficiency and upward mobility across generations. The Development Associate position at ACHIEVEability is a marvelous opportunity to hone skills in different facets of fundraising.
If you are a person of integrity, have a sense of mission about helping low income families surmount obstacles to prosperity and lead fuller lives, know a lot already but are eager to learn even more, are able to communicate well with people of different backgrounds, can think big about what is possible for these families, for the organization and for yourself, then apply now!
Responsibilities:
* Plan and coordinate newsletters, e‐newsletters, annual report and other communications
* Write grant proposals and maintain grants database
* Maintain donor database, support donor cultivation and produce acknowledgments
* Coordinate in‐kind gifts
* Assist with major gift solicitation, direct mail and annual campaign
* Assist with events and volunteer management
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills – writing, speaking, presentation
* Creativity
* At least intermediate level skills and experience in word processing, donor databases (Raiser’s Edge a plus), spreadsheets, desktop publishing and e‐mail are essential
* Skills in graphic design are highly desirable
* Ability to relate to, communicate well with and be respectful of people from all walks of life; Excellent interpersonal skills
* Strong sense of responsibility, initiative and follow through
* Ability to successfully pass background checks (criminal – FBI and PA, child abuse, drug test, driving record, college transcripts and diploma)
* Valid driver’s license, Registered vehicle available for use at work, Auto insurance
* Comfortable working in West Philadelphia
