Position Overview

Council for Relationships is a nonprofit organization with the mission to help people understand, respect and improve the quality of the important relationships in their lives by providing unsurpassed clinical care, research, education and training.

The Development and Communications Officer is responsible for supporting development and internal/external communications functions at Council for Relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage annual giving campaigns
  • Maintain donor contact database and files to guarantee quality of communication and donor records
  • Process donations
  • Assure quick turnaround on gift acknowledgements with tax information
  • Ensure that Council information on Guidestar and other electronic information sources is accurate and up-to-date
  • Identify foundation funding opportunities
  • Assist in writing foundation grants and submitting with all required attachments
  • Fulfill program and fiscal reporting requirements for foundation and other funders.
  • Assist in planning and implementing Council’s fundraising events
  • Research referral sources and assist in coordinating regular outreach to them.
  • Maintain the organization’s mailing list
  • Assist with website updates and maintenance, including managing content for blog
  • Manage social media platforms and communities (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.)
  • Engage audiences on social media outlets daily
  • Edit/write content for website, blog, email campaigns, and press releases
  • Assist with creating and coordinating email campaigns
  • Manage media relations as needed
