We are currently looking for a part-time desktop support position available in our public access computer lab. Good people and communication skills, good documentation skills, and a self-starter attitude are a must. Simple LAN administration knowledge required with A+ certification at a minimum. Candidate must have a good understanding of network permissions, intermediate knowledge of Access databases, expert knowledge of Windows XP and 2000, intermediate knowledge of Office XP. The candidate will assist users when they need help in this flexible, 20 hours per week position. An outstanding work ethic is required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
. Experience in installing and supporting Windows NT, XP, 2000 software products.
. Proficiency working in Microsoft Windows environment and with Windows-based applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat
. Experience with desktop publishing applications considered a plus
. An understanding of basic hardware and software operating principles
. Strong written and oral communication skills
. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, this individual should be detail oriented with a strong customer service focus
. The ability to work well independently and in a team environment
. Ability to quickly learn new technology
. Ghosting PC’s knowledge
. Configuring PC’s knowledge
. Extensive knowledge of html and other coding

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: B.S. or Associates degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline, or equivalent work experience; Industry relevant certifications including Microsoft (MCDST, MCP, A++) are a plus.

EXPERIENCE: 3+ years in support of the Microsoft desktop computing environment.
