The Deputy Executive Director (Deputy ED) of the Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice (CNSJ) is responsible for the oversight of the daily operations and programming of CNSJ. This role will be an on-site presence providing supervision of the Director of Healing Hurt People, the Director of Healing Centered Learning, the Community Outreach Team (COT) Manager, the CNSJ’s Data and Compliance Manager, and the CNSJ Administrative Coordinator. The Deputy ED will also support contracts and fiscal relationships with CNSJ funders and stakeholders, community partners, and third-party entities.
The Deputy ED will report programmatic efforts and developments to the CNSJ Executive Director and communicate effectively with the CNSJ Advisory Board by providing timely information and programmatic updates. The Deputy ED will collaborate with the CNSJ’s Director of Fiscal Operations and HHP’s Medical Director to ensure cohesion among center-based projects and initiatives and that fiscal, budget, data, and reporting considerations are being supported by the work conducted by program staff. The Deputy ED will support the execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting across the CNSJ, while pursuing grant opportunities to sustain and expand the CNSJ activities. This position will also assist the CNSJ ED and work with the Director of Fiscal Operations in the planning and execution of the CNSJ annual budget. This role would also be tasked with maintaining relationships and meeting the expectations of the CNSJ’s multiple funders and partner organizations.
The Deputy ED will execute the CNSJ’s mission and strategic goals and formulate policies and procedures under the supervision of the CNSJ Executive Director. The Deputy ED will represent the CNSJ at local funder and community events, actively engaging with the CNSJ multiple stakeholders and partners.
The Deputy ED will be located at the CNSJ’s main office in downtown Philadelphia (3 days per week required, 4 preferred) and support the CNSJ’s Healing Hurt People program efforts at St Christopher’s Hospital for Children. This position requires local and occasional national travel. The CNSJ is housed within Drexel University’s Dornsife School of Public Health and affiliated with the College of Medicine. The CNSJ has a dynamic relationship with various community partners.
