Deputy Coordinator for PA, Campus Vote Project – Apr 29
Posted by Campus Vote Project on April 26, 2022
Campus Vote Project (CVP) was launched in 2012 by Fair Elections Center to expand our work on student voting issues. We work with universities, community colleges, faculty, students, and election officials to reduce barriers to student voting. CVP helps campuses institutionalize reforms that empower students with the information they need to register and vote. Campus Vote Project Deputy Coordinators have four main areas of focus: institutionalizing voter engagement, providing up-to-date election information, developing student leaders and supporting on-campus early voting advocacy.
Position Description:
Campus Vote Project seeks Deputy State Coordinators for Arizona, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Deputy State Coordinators are key members of our team. They are charged with working with State Coordinators to manage and strengthen existing relationships with campus administration and faculty leadership and establish new, lasting relationships with campuses to carry out our goals. Deputy State Coordinators will work to recruit and support campuses in the Voter Friendly Campus program. They will also assist in recruiting and supervising “Democracy Fellows,” student positions committed to carrying out democratic engagement programs at their colleges or universities. Democracy Fellows coordinate with administration and faculty, helping organize student voter registration, voter education, and voter turnout activities. Finally, in some states the Deputy State Coordinator will execute the Early Voting is Easier partnership with MTV, advocating for on-campus early voting sites. These positions report directly to the corresponding State Coordinator.
The ideal candidate has a passion for voting rights with a particular interest in helping college students access our democracy, is committed to building relationships, and has a knowledge of voting rules and regulations in their state, and is located in Arizona, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, respectively.
Priority application deadline is Friday, April 29, 2022.
