Democracy Summer at Haverford College: Summer Speaker Series – Jul 2,9,16,23,30

This July, Haverford is making space for a set of urgent public conversations about democracy, justice, and the forces reshaping civic life.

All events will be held on Thursdays in July from noon to 1:15 p.m. in Zubrow Commons, located within the Marian E. Koshland Integrated Natural Sciences Center. Lunch will be served. The series is open to the public, and guests from outside of the Tri-Co are asked to register in advance.

Up first on July 2: “How Communities Build Power” with Andrés Celin ’11:

Andrés Celin ’11, strategic planning and business development lead at Anavi Strategies, former outreach director for the office of Philadelphia City Councilmember Helen Gym, and 2023 City Council candidate, will discuss community power and local democracy. He will be in conversation with Janice Lion, associate director of the Center for Peace and Global Citizenship.
