June 25-July 2: Democracy Summer 2002
The Democracy Action Project hosts its second Democracy Summer, a weeklong electoral reform and voting rights training institute primarily for young adults. Training includes community and campus organizing, coalition building with diverse groups, messaging, and conducting voter registration drives. This year’s program will take place in Washington, D.C., and will focus on voting rights for D.C. residents in addition to a wide range of national democracy reform issues. The application deadline is May 15. Apply online at http://www.democracysummer.org or contact Nick Suplina at (202) 234-9382, x257 for more information.
