Democracy House is welcoming applications for their upcoming summer cohort of the Young Leaders Summer Institute 2026!
This free, virtual, nonpartisan program builds leadership skills and connects participants with peers and civic leaders across the world committed to strengthening democracy.
The Young Leaders Summer Institute (YLSI) is a civic education program designed to prepare rising generations to defend, strengthen and improve democracy.
Over the course of the program, YLSI Fellows learn about threats to democracy, discuss global and historic democratic contexts, and develop their civic leadership skills.
Participants can expect to spend 3-5 hours/week in YLSI activities, including:

Weekly 2-hour interactive sessions, on Tuesdays June 3-July 29 from 12-2pm ET, featuring democracy experts, leaders, and elected representatives.

Weekly 1-hour small group discussions, with various time slots offered upon program acceptance.
The final deadline is Sunday, April 19.
