Delta Teacher Efficacy Campaign Town Hall Advocacy Sessions

The Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF) extended the deadline for acceptance of proposals to host the Delta Teacher Efficacy Campaign (DTEC) Town Hall Advocacy Sessions. Proposals from nonprofit organizations interested in serving as local partners and Town Hall Session hosts, must be received by 4:00 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2015. Selected organizations will also receive a $1,000 stipend.

The organizations selected to conduct the Town Hall Advocacy Sessions are expected to stimulate dialogue and support teacher effectiveness through enhanced efficacy. The partnering organizations will serve as on-the-ground agents for DREF, logistically facilitating the Town Hall Advocacy Sessions in their communities. DREF will provide a toolkit for implementation, and training for the locally-identified facilitators.

In November 2014, DREF and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. issued a Call to Action to increase public dialogue on teacher efficacy. The goal of the three-year Delta Teacher Efficacy Campaign, made possible by a matching grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is to improve educational outcomes for at-risk urban youth by focusing on teacher effectiveness in 40 target cities.

Eligibility: The partnering organizations must be nonprofits that serve in the community and share the perspective of DREF, DST and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for leading change in education, enhancing teacher efficacy, and increasing student achievement.

Deadline: January 30, 2015. Partners will be announced on February 27, 2015.
