muraLAB | Daily tous les Jours Art and Design Studio, Montréal
Monday, December 12, 2016 at 6:00 pm
Center/Architecture + Design, 1218 Arch Street
Join us as the principals of Daily tous les Jours (DTLJ) Art and Design Studio discuss how their projects open up new possibilities for people to interact with each other and with their surroundings. The conversation will provide insight into the creation of successful public art and design interventions—and how these can contribute to lasting civic connections.
DTLJ’s work explores the idea of collective experience and proposes new narratives for how we can live together in our increasingly complex urban environments. Among DTLJ’s best-known projects is 21 Balançoires (21 Swings), “a giant collective instrument, a game where together we can achieve better things than individually.”
DTLJ is active in the new media and design communities, giving lectures and workshops worldwide, most notably at SXSW, TEDx, Ars Electronica, the Walker Art Center, and the San José Biennale. DTLJ’s work has won international recognition, including the 2015 Knight Cities Challenge Global Innovators Prize and a 2016 Fast Company Innovation by Design Award. RSVP.
