Curriculum Connections Through Schoolyard Investigations
A 5-day professional development institute for educators of grades K-8, using the new science frameworks.

Experience New Hampshire’s rich natural landscape while developing your professional skills in this 5-day, overnight institute. Design an interdisciplinary schoolyard or community investigation tailored to your curriculum. Enjoy a wildlife safari, nightwalk and campfires.
Using New Hampshire’s natural landscape as our laboratory, you will
? Learn Earth, Physical and Life Science content through study of the state’s natural resources and landscape.
? Engage in a variety of learning experiences including hands-on scientific fieldwork, lectures, discussion groups and journaling.
? Explore skills and techniques to teach content to K-8 classes through problem-solving schoolyard investigations.
? Design an interdisciplinary investigation suited to the scope and sequence of your curriculum, incorporating the new science frameworks.
