CURE Seminar Series with Tre Johnson, Author of Black Genius – Oct 2
Posted by Rutgers Camden on September 30, 2025
Join the Center for Urban Research and Education (CURE) at Rutgers University – Camden for our upcoming Seminar Series with cultural critic Tre Johnson. His new book, Black Genius, examines how Black American culture has, against all odds, been the lifeblood of American ingenuity. The collection of essays includes reflections on his time working in the Camden City School District – an educational space where genius thrived, despite surveillance of employees and students. Other reflections draw on his childhood growing up in New Jersey. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A and signing, with books available for purchase.
Date and Time: Thursday, October 2, 4:00 – 6:30 PM
Location: IDEA Center For The Arts, 217 Market Street, Camden, NJ 08102
