Culinary Instructor – Teen Program (Part-Time), Project HOME

Job Summary:
The Culinary Instructor, Teen Program provides instruction in basic culinary skills, emphasizing safety and healthy cooking. This part-time position is up to 9 hours/week, in-person, Wednesdays and alternating Thursdays from 4 – 6 pm, plus paid time for lesson planning and grocery shopping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plans, documents, and implements lessons designed to provide basic culinary instruction for students enrolled in the Project HOME Teen Program.
a. Lessons are planned and conducted 1-2 times per week
b. Culminating events are planned and conducted quarterly
2. Sets up the kitchen in advance of each lesson; responsibly uses the kitchen and ensures student safety during class; and cleans the kitchen after class.
3. Grocery shops for the entire week of culinary lessons. Documents all purchases and acquires approval from Teen and College Access Program Manager.
