Posted by MENTOR Independence Region on May 10, 2022
Join MENTOR Independence Region for a free in-person Critical Mentoring Training and Community Dialogue for mentoring programs on May 18, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM! Embedding critical race theory into mentorship, critical mentoring places youth at the center of the process, challenging norms of adult and institutional authority and notions of saviorism to create collaborative partnerships with youth and communities that recognize there are multiple sources of expertise and knowledge. MENTOR IR will facilitate a training and a collective exercise with participants to explore applying critical mentoring in your program! Network with other mentoring programs over coffee and light refreshments, and learn more together about applying critical mentoring in your program!
