Arts in Education Initiative Report Released: Creating Pennsylvania’s Future through the Arts and Education – a project of the Education Policy and Leadership Center
Through the work of a 32-member Study Group and assistance from a 13-member Advisory Committee, Arts in Education has developed recommendations for policymakers and other key arts and education audiences, which are included in Education Policy and Leadership Center’s (EPLC) Arts and Education Policy Report, Creating Pennsylvania’s Future through the Arts and Education. EPLC is building capacity within the arts community for effective policy advocacy at the state and local levels, which will bolster a campaign to support the Report’s recommendations.
“Our report emphasizes that citizens of all ages should have access to a rich and diverse array of arts and cultural experiences and that all pre K–12 students should be provided a high-quality, comprehensive, standards-based arts education,” said Ron Cowell, EPLC president. “For our students, arts activities in schools enhance student achievement and prepare young people with the 21st century skills they need to be successful in our increasingly global society.”
