Creating Community Through Art: Exploring Philly with the Mural Arts Program
6 – 8 pm
RTW Workshop, 4029 Market St
Please join Repair the World for our newest edition of Cocktails with a Conscience!
Philadelphia has possibly the largest public art collection in the country. This extraordinary collection is a result of the city”s long and impressive tradition of cultural and civic involvement.
Partnering with the City of Philadelphia’s Mural Arts Program, we will examine the murals and neighborhoods that highlight the unique communities in Philadelphia. Come listen to a guest speaker who will join us from Mural Arts Program, learn the history behind the art you see every day, engage in healthy debate surrounding issues of gentrification, take part in a gallery walk, and enjoy FREE food and drinks!
This will be a fantastic opportunity to learn more about both organizations and socialize with local, social justice minded individuals who are invested in understanding their communities.
Please bring your friends and your appetite! Spots are limited so be sure to register on Eventbrite. Check out the event on Facebook, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Reserve your spot for #RTWCocktails today!!
