Creating A Culture of Engagement

Creating A Culture of Engagement, The Robert Morris University Engaged and Service Learning Conference, October 8-9, 2015.
Engaged learning, service learning and civic engagement are defined differently, but they share at least one important attribute – getting young adults to think about themselves as more than just students and instead as contributors to and leaders in their society.
The Center for Innovative Teaching and Directed Engaged Learning at Robert Morris University is hosting a conference to examine best practices in these areas; to support institutions building these programs on their campus; to celebrate successes in engaged learning, service learning or civic engagement; and to expand the network of people involved in such programs.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Administrators, faculty, staff and graduate students whose principal job function or research area involves engaged learning, service learning or civic engagement.
WHERE: Robert Morris University, Moon Township, PA (approximately 10 minutes from Pittsburgh’s international airport)
WHEN: October 8-9, 2015
Attendees are encouraged to stay at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Airport hotel; the conference rate of $118 is available.
Attendees can register here and program or research paper proposals can be submitted here.
