Create Your Own Service-Learning Experience Toolkit & Training
Posted by Youth Service America on June 27, 2023
Based on Youth Service America (YSA) Semester of Service Teacher Toolkit, the Service-Learning Experience Toolkit gives you the option to choose a week-long, month-long, or semester-long service-learning experience with your youth/students.
- One Week Service-Learning Experience – The simplest option with a set of planning steps that will take 3-5 class/program periods. Best for those brand new to service-learning or with limited time.
- One Month Service-Learning Experience – The middle option with a set of planning steps that will take 12-20 class/program periods. Best for those with some experience in service-learning. Good for summer programs.
- One Semester Service-Learning Experience – The advanced option with a set of planning steps that will take 24-40 class/program periods. Best for the most experienced service-learning practitioners.
Provided as both Google Docs and Word Docs, each planning element has its own document, so you can pick and choose only the steps necessary for your activity, and do your planning right in your own copy of the documents.
Create your own virtual Youth Service Training/Institute on YSA’s YouTube channel.
With nearly 70 videos to choose from, you can customize your own agenda and watch on your own schedule.
Prepare yourself and other youth and adult leaders in your community to lead more effective service or community service-learning projects in the future. Watch the videos yourself, with a group, or use them as supplements to your own in-person training along with all the downloadable resources in the Youth Service Knowledge Center.
