COVID-19 Trauma-Informed Workforce Initiative Fund – Jul 6
Posted by Temple University on July 6, 2021
Temple University is excited to announce its COVID-19 Trauma-Informed Workforce Initiative Fund, specifically targeting medically underserved urban, suburban, and rural communities impacted by COVID-19 in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This short-term initiative will focus on improving health outcomes among vulnerable populations in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, Dauphin, and Lancaster counties. The ultimate goals of this project are to prevent COVID-19 transmission, increase vaccine access and decrease vaccine hesitancy, and provide the resources communities need to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19. Through support from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources Services Administration, Temple University will allocate $3.5 million to non-profit organizations for this work, with an expectation for funds to be fully expended by the end of November 2021.
The COVID-19 Trauma-Informed Workforce Initiative Fund will provide sub-awards for Employer Partners to reassign or hire and train trauma-informed credible messengers, who will commit to implementing COVID-19 prevention and vaccine adherence strategies in their respective communities and for the populations they serve. With clearly defined expectations and scope of work, the employer partner can receive a cost-reimbursable subcontract for up to $50,000 for every full-time COVID-19 Trauma Informed Worker they employ; the employer will be reimbursed for the salary and fringe benefits of the COVID-19 Trauma Informed Worker, for a proportion of the salary of the supervisor, and for other direct operating costs like travel reimbursement, lodging for a program-end conference, supplies, marketing and event materials, phone, technology needs, etc..
