YESPhilly Counselor/Case manager Job Posting

YESPhilly is a dynamic organization that engages youth who have dropped out of school and helps them transform their lives. Students come to YESPhilly because they want to learn. YESPhilly serves over 200 students/year in school and GED programs that combine academics, media arts and project-based learning. Counselors collaborate with other YESPhilly staff to instill in students core values of responsibility, persistence, initiative, teamwork and goal-setting. Counselors assess and address each student’s goals, needs and challenges to success, and then co-create students’ personal development plans for success, including earning a GED or high school diploma from YESPhilly.

Qualifications

Masters degree in related field.

Experience with urban young adults or comparable population.

Knowledge of resources available to support students.

Strong Active Listening, Speaking, Social Perceptiveness, Critical Thinking, Writing, Judgment and Decision Making, Active Learning, Complex Problem Solving skills .

Counselors and all employees are required to provide proof of child abuse, criminal background, and FBI fingerprint clearances.
