TO OUR CHILDREN?S FUTURE WITH HEALTH, a non-profit agency serving children and families in the Nice-town/Tioga section of North Philadelphia is seeking a person, part time, to provide therapy to its participants. Counselor Position Open
FLSA Status:Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director, HIV/Delinquency Prevention Project
Tasks and Responsibilities:
?Plan, develop, and implement a goal-directed, structured counseling program for youth and adults.
?Provide individual, family and group counseling to program participants.
?Complete and maintain necessary program documentation including detailed progress notes, services plans, assessments and resource referrals on all participants.
?Provide daily contact with youth during hours of program operation to ensure retention.
?Provide weekly contact with youth?s school, family and other entities.
?Participate in agency trainings and team meetings as directed.
?Acquire 15 hours of staff development annually.
?Acquire a child abuse clearance and criminal history check annually.
?Maintain all appropriate professional licenses and/or certifications.
Qualifications:
?Minimum of a Masters degree in Social Work, Family Therapy, Psychology, Education or a related field.
?Minimum of 1 year of counseling experience.
?Experience working with diverse populations in urban settings.
?Proficiency in Strength- based approaches to counseling.
?Strong organizational/task management skills.
?Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
?Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
