Cornel West featured in discussion on the politics of race
As part of its Out of Africa lecture series, The Franklin (a.k.a. The Franklin Institute) will present a panel discussion on the politics of slavery and race in America on Wednesday, September 17th.
The panel will include Dr. Cornel West of Princeton University, author of Race Matters; Dr. Tukufu Zuberi of University of Pennsylvania, author of Thicker Than Blood: How Racial Statistics Lie; and moderator Dr. Molefi Kete Asante of Temple University, author of Erasing Racism: The Survival of the American Nation.
The discussion will take place at 7pm in the Franklin’s first floor theater, 222 North 20th Street, Philadelphia. Admission is $10 for nonmembers and $5 for members. Registration is required and space is limited. To register, call 215-448-1254.
