Summary:

Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis and Education (AAYTE), a long-standing nonprofit organization in the City of Philadelphia, is in search of a highly capable and energetic individual to spearhead its strategic communications efforts, which include but are not limited to internal and external marketing, community outreach, and media relations.

Our organization is currently in the midst of an exciting time of change and growth. The Coordinator of Strategic Communications must bring a high level of competency, motivation to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and the ability to learn and grow professionally. More importantly, the candidate must share a passion for young people and have the skills to “tell the story” of our purpose, our people and our programs to a wide variety of audiences.

The Coordinator of Strategic Communications will work with the President and the Vice President of Organizational Advancement to develop and execute marketing and communications strategies and tactics with AAYTE’s community which includes current and potential donors; elected officials; and organizational leaders, parents, young people, and other engaged members of the community. This individual will develop and produce materials such as brochures, press releases, web copy, and newsletters; manage marketing and communications projects; ensure the quality of media materials and serve as a media contact; track deadlines and budget; and develop strategies to enhance public image. This position also involves assisting in community partner and donor cultivation, and the candidate must be able to represent the organization in a professional manner.

Specific Responsibilities:

Developing content and writing for various channels including website, marketing materials, newsletter, email campaigns, press releases, articles, Facebook, and Twitter.
Developing and implementing a marketing and communications plan
Managing multiple marketing and communications projects
Identifying new marketing and media opportunities
Budget planning and tracking
Project managing of marketing production
Maintaining suite of marketing materials
Serving as a media contact

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of relevant work experience in the field of strategic communications, marketing, or public relations
Exemplary communications and writing skills with experience in tailoring message to various audiences
Public/media relations experience strongly preferred
High level of creativity and entrepreneurial ability
Solid strategic thinking, problem-solving and planning skills
Minimum competence in a design software, such as Adobe InDesign, preferred
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Willingness to take on any task
Ability to coordinate with diverse internal and external business partners
Passion for young people, especially those from under-served communities
Impeccable integrity

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is a full-time, 12-month salaried position. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with prior experience. Full-time benefits include: health insurance, paid vacation, and sick days.
